#216 Accounting I 1 credit
Everyone needs to know how to keep a balanced account! This course
provides students with a working knowledge of accounting, recording financial
transactions, summarizing accounts and preparing financial statements.
Students will use basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
skills to complete various bookkeeping assignments.
Students are able to receive a math credit for this course.
#220 Accounting II 1 credit
Accounting II consists of a review of the Accounting I theory and
application with emphasis on analysis, group projects, and advanced
accounting techniques.
Students must have a basic knowledge about the accounting equation,
debits, credits and financial statements.
This knowledge is gained by taking Accounting I. Grades 10, 11, 12.
#218 Business Mathematics 1 credit
Applying math to the student’s personal and business life is the basis
of this course. Actual problems such as balancing a checkbook, “punching”
a time clock and calculating pay and income are some of the fundamental operations
explored in this class.
Students are able to receive a math credit for this course.
#230 Record Keeping in the Computer Age 1 credit
This course explores the basic record keeping procedures such as
checking accounts, petty cash receipts, retail charge sales, accounts receivable,
and accounts payable. Students keep records for small businesses.
This course helps students determine an interest in accounting and
business procedures in general. It is strongly recommended that a student take Record Keeping prior to enrolling in Accounting I.Record Keeping is recommended to the 9th and 10th grade level, although all students in grades 9 – 12 will benefit from this class
#210 Advanced Keyboarding ½ credit
While seventh grade keyboarding introduces the students to proper
typing technique, this course enhances and increases the student’s ability
to produce documents of a more personal nature. Students are reintroduced
to the correct typing techniques. This is a condensed typing course for
personal use and is highly recommended for all pupils before they graduate from
high school!
#205 Word Processing/Desktop Publishing 1 credit
Enrolling in this course helps students achieve success in their other classes
because they will become proficient in using the computer labs available in our
high school. Assignments are completed on the computer, and word processing
programs are explored.
