    Course Description:

Welcome To Driver’s Education. Driver’s Education will provide you with an opportunity to develop the knowledge, attitude, and skills that are needed to become a safe driver.

    Course Overview

Driver Education consists of thirty-six hours of instruction. There are thirty hours of classroom instruction with each session lasting 2 hours.

During the classroom phase students are taught the rules of the road, motor vehicle laws, licensing requirements, defensive driving, the dangers of drinking and driving, and responsible behavior while driving. The students also participate in discussions that are led by law enforcement authorities.

The OTR phase gives the students opportunities to learn basic driving skills such as; steering, turning, braking, accelerating, changing lanes, and right turns on a red. Students experience driving in residential areas, congested business districts, city driving, country roads, multi-lane roads including interstate routes and state highways.  The Sharon City School District no longer offers Behind the Wheel Instruction.
